New Radio TechCon [UK]

The UK radio and audio industry’s technical and engineering conference

Radio TechCon is the UK’s conference for the radio and audio technical and engineering community. It will take place on Monday 27th November 2017 at IET London: Savoy Place.

Radio TechCon is aimed at broadcast engineers, technologists and anyone with an interest in radio, audio, technology and engineering – including programme-makers and managers. It takes a deep dive into the technical challenges and opportunities facing the radio and audio industry, as well as celebrating technical achievements and remaining as accessible as possible to all.

The one-day conference will feature a mixture of speakers from across audio and technical disciplines as well as mini ‘how-to’ masterclasses and case studies from real-life projects.

We are delighted that Broadcast Bionics remains our Headline Sponsor. Radio TechCon relies on the support of the industry, in order to give back to the radio and audio technical community. We are very proud to receive continued support from our key sponsors Arqiva and the IET, as well as from RCS and Broadcast Radio.

New SoundGirls Roundtable: Diversity in Audio [US]

SoundGirls Roundtable: Diversity in Audio

Professional Audio is sorely deficient in gender, racial and ethnic diversity. While there are not accurate statistics available, it is a commonly accepted that only 5% of audio engineers are women. Eric Deggans of NPR commenting on a 2015 study from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, said that “the #OscarsSoWhite should probably be to changed to #HollywoodSoWhite.”

What can we do to change the face of the industry and how do we handle sexism and bias in the industry. Join us for a roundtable to help create a blueprint for change. We will have best practice information for dealing with sexual harassment. Stay tuned for updates on speakers.
